The Logistics Cloud Final Conference on the 27th of September in Brussels presented the results of the thematic workshops, enhancing awareness of the progress made in the sector, and at fostering further exploitation and implementation of research results.
AEOLIX project coordinator, Lina Konstantinopoulou, ERTICO-ITS Europe was present as a moderator and at the event organised by DG MOVE and ALICE aimed at assessing major advances in key areas of Freight Transport and Logistics and Transport Infrastructure.
The Final Conference came as a grand finale of three previous events: the first Collaborative Innovation Day focusing on the carbon footprint reduction in freight transportation and logistics, the second Collaborative Innovation Day focused on digitalization, data sharing and trust enabling efficient and sustainable freight transport and logistic whilethe third workshop focused on City Logistics. Various ERTICO Transport & Logistics activities, but not only, were presented during the workshops including AEOLIX, SPICE, NOVELOG, CO-GISTICS and LEARN.
The main general conclusions out of the three events are the following:
- Collaborative Innovation Days have demonstrated a high added value for participants:
in one day a broad overview of key industry leader’s achievements and future plans as
well as of European R&I projects developments and outcomes could be shared within the
- The concept of Clouds is suitable as a framework to develop Collaborative Innovation.
‘Cloud’ is a dynamic concept; it is something able to change shape and dimension,
guaranteeing a high degree of freedom and flexibility.
- The topics addressed in the Logistics Clouds have been fully backed by a strong
participation of stakeholders. The initiative has been really welcome by all stakeholders
and the topics selected have been judged of high interest.
